I can't believe that Johnny Hunt didnt make anyone's list. He is a very powerful preacher of a very large church in Woodstock, Ga. and is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. I can see Jonathan Falwell making his way into this list in the future. Give him a few years as Senior Pastor of Thomas Road, long enough to make a name for himself and get out of his father's shadow. If anyone would like to do research on pastor Hunt his church's website is www.fbcw.org

I also noticed that there are very few Baptist leaders on your list. People like Shelton Smith, Jack Schaap, Johnny Hunt (mentioned above), and many others. It seems as though there is a very definate line between Evangelicals, and fundamentalists.

Anyway, this is will be my working list. It will take a long time for this project to take shape, but I'll keep in touch. I'm disappointed that the ArmEnian Calvinist, Rousas John Rushdoony, did not make your short list. He coined the term "secular humanism," demonstrated irrefutably the religious nature of "public" education (AKA "government schools), applied God's Word to all of life, not just the "universe" between the ears, and continues to influence thoughtful Christians around the world. His scholarship, and expert witness testimonies, provided coherent rationales for the Christian education movement. There is a reformation underway, a vast, quiet, repudiation of the anti-Christian religion that defines American civic life. A generous portion of this fresh turning towards God traces back to RJR.

I'll add Johnny Hunt to the list, and probably read over the writings of Rushdoony, so it's all good. Hans

I added Hunt and Price to the list. Naturally, some of the people on the list I really like, while others, I myself have questions about and perhaps am not so fond of, (trying to be nice) Also, I will eventually try and contact them for feedback. Hans

With that, I'll throw in my pastor, Dr. Jack Graham....heard and seen on television and radio throughout the world. A solid biblical teacher. And, most importantly, the Godly leader of an awesome church....

Hans I think the #1 most influential christian artist was Larry Norman, and Keith Green (last days ministry still going strong), Michael W. Smith. Petra, there are so many, these are just a couple.

I think the idea is to make a list of living people that can be interviewed, not necessarily the greatest leaders of all time. As the "pastor to presidents," aside from his many years of evangelism, I would think Billy Graham would be head and shoulders above anyone in terms of influence. I really wish Keith Green were still alive. I'd love to do the interview for you. It was his music that led me to the Lord, 17 years after his death.

I don't know if you can consider him of this generation because the study he put together came out years ago, but I would have to add Henry Blackaby to the list because experiencing God is by far and away the best small group study I have ever done.

ORIGINAL: earthless Two false teachers on your list? One that denies the Trinity (denies the God of Scripture) and preaches 'name it and claim it? And another that is a documented false teacher and false prophet? Goodness. God have mercy on America. hey Earthless, are you familiar with Carlton Arthurs, pastor of Wheaton Christian Center, in the western suburbs of chicagoland? I was visiting his church and i didn't read much about him, but then today i saw this blurb in his bio - (now he came from Moody Bible Institue or else he was on the Moody station WMBI with his show, (i cant remember which)... do you know if this could be WOF? also the bookstore in the church had some books by Spurgeon andTorrey but also Miles Munroe and some TBN preachers. After a successful ministry in Wheaton, God called Pastor Arthurs to raise up a New Testament Church in Wheaton. In 1978 the “Anointed Word” radio and television ministries were initiated. Wheaton Christian Center now has a large missionary outreach around the world including the country of Israel as well as Belize. Pastor Arthurs is often regarded as a pioneer of the word of faith teaching in the Chicagoland area. His passion is to strengthen marriages and families. His experience in successfully raising four children has made him a proven teacher on marriage and family. Pastor Arthurs primary focus is the teaching on holiness with a centrality on Christ.

Seems odd to ask on a Christian forum for names "society" would put in the top 100. I didn't see some pretty key names on your list: Henry Blackaby Franklin Graham Joni Erickson-Tada (sp?) Frank Peretti R. Albert Mohler, Jr. Jesse C. Middendorf Ed Young Jerry Jenkins ... but I'm a Christian. I don't think I speak well for "society". - KK
