I have never heard that! I don't wear heels because its real hard to find a size 4.5/5 shoe. So my heels are an inch. Yeah big difference being 5 feet tall instead of 4'11

I love, love, love my heels. When I was pregnant with my daughter, even in the late weeks, I was wearing heels. My MIL got mad at me, telling me I was going to fall. So the next time I saw her I wore flat shoes. And I fell. So I went right back to my heels. But they don't hurt my feet. It is possible to find comfy heels. I also hate pantyhose and refuse to wear them, but when I'm in my skirts and it's too cold to go bare legs (or I haven't shaved, because that's one of the best defenses against a Canadian winter) I wear tights. I honestly can't think of anything I do that would sacrifice comfort. I'm not a sweatpants and running shoes girl, but I still go for comfort when dressing up.

Very interesting replies. So what about wearing bras? I leave mine on until I climb into bed. They are not always comfortable but certainly necessary.

I never leave the house w/o it...but at home, I'm more partial to the cami's with a shelf bra! As soon as I'm home for good, I'm in my "at home uniform" capri sweats, cami w/shelf bra under a tank or tee, big fuzzy flip-flop slippers and usually an apron and possibly a bandana on my head. I am perty at home!

I can't stand pointed-toe shoes; I think they're not-at-all attractive. Not to mention the atrocities they do to one's feet and back.

Pointy toe shoes hurt your back? I can't make a logical connection... And people have surgery to wear them? I have some and they don't fit my feet any differently than any other toe style-- there's just an extra triangle after my toes stop. I've never heard of such. Re: bras- I wear mine unless I am in my PJs. I don't find mine uncomfortable. At times when the underwire has been bent or if I was wearing the wrong size, I've experienced discomfort. Assuming the bra fits and isn't damaged, the only time I find them uncomfy is when I'm laying in certain position (and probably bending the underwire.)

I tend to be the most like Karlie and HisCov, I will sacrifice a bit of comfort for the polished look but I haven't found it to really be all that uncomfortable. Pantyhose... I don't usually wear them unless it completes an outfit. The only ones I have worn recently were actually a pair of black tights with a red cord skirt and black sweater.

I think not wearing a bra is uncomfortable, too, although I hate underwires. I don't think they look any better than anything else out there anyway. I thought of some more thing that fit into this discussion: contact lenses, and jewelry. Some kinds of earrings I find are uncomfortable after awhile, and contacts have always ended up being irritating after awhile. I still wear contacts on occasion, but I've worn my glasses more often than not this past year.

My contacts don't bother me at all... I actually find them more comfortable then glasses. As for bras- I'm a larger B cup, was a full C after being pregnant and even when I was an A I always wore a bra except to sleep. My bra's are not the best fitting right now, but my weight hasn't stabilized and I think my cup size just recently did so it hasn't been worth the hassle of buying new ones.

See, I don't find bras uncomfortable. However, I never buy underwires or any that are frilly or lacey.

IMO, women who wear hose to make their legs look tan would do better to carefully select the color of their clothing such that it complemented their skin coloring and not worry about making their legs look tan. I agree! I never, ever buy flesh tone nylons and haven't in years and years. I don't like the look at all. I either wear a very sheer black for darker skirts or a very sheer cream if I'm wearing a formal summer dress, which is rare. I don't think I have bought anything formal or semi-formal that one of those two colors can't be worn with. Everything else, I can go bare legged in. I wear my bra til I take a bath at night and go to bed. Sometimes, around the house, I'll wear a lounge style bra which is very comfy, just not supportive enough to wear anywhere. I go without when I'm in bed or the shower/bath...other than that, some kind of bra is on me. But, I am more than a little on the, uhm, curvy side, so it's just not comfy to go without.

I can't remember the last time I wore anything higher than an inch heel. I can't remember the last time I wore nylons either. I'm not opposed to them but I prefer pants and comfort.

My contacts do make my eyes more sensitive to sun, so I always have sunglasses with/on me... otherwise, contacts are loads more comfy than glasses. But, my glasses are so thick the glass touches my face and they are constantly fogging. Speaking of sensitive eyes, I have stopped wearing mascara. A few years ago, I kept getting an eye infections and finally narrowed it down to mascara. I found that eyeliner applied a certain way almost negates the need for mascara. So that's one beauty item I do without so I can be comfy/ for my health.

So how do you apply your eyeliner? I don't wear mascara on a day to day basis anymore for the same reasons.
