So much for being the candidate of "CHANGE"

We are learning very quickly that “change” for President-elect Obama, is nothing more than a “change” in job title for the same old Washington insiders:

1. Senator Joe Biden is Vice President-elect

2. Former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta is co-chair of the Obama transition team

3. Tom Daschle, will reportedly be nominated Secretary of Health and Human Services.

4. Eric Holder, who advised President Clinton to give Marc Rich a get-out-of-jail-free card, is Obama’s top choice for Attorney General

5. Senator Hillary Clinton is reportedly being considered for Secretary of State

PT Barnum must be laughing right now!

And the democrat party thought they would change from being the
"Clinton Party." ............................ LOL.

And they were fear-mongering a third-term Bush.

Here comes the third-term Clinton Party.

I'm sure Bill would love to have Hillary as Sec of State. It'll be "party time" in Chappaquah (sp) while she's off on some trip on Zimbabwe

So you expect his cabinet to be made up of newbies who have no expertise in their field? You really want a head of national security who's doesn't know the difference between a Shiite and a Kurd?

It's amazing how the Obama haters can't even wait until he's officially in office before attacking him. Guess old habits are hard to break.

You honestly don't know what we are talking about do you?

What Change did Obama say he was going to make that he is NOT making currently?

(no he does not need to be sworn in for us to see that he is not keeping his word)

This is why there can not be honest discussion on politics.

Case closed. You aren't listening (hear) anything that is being said.

Funny thing happened on Nov 4th...62 million uninformed people didn't care that Mr Obama was a "newbie" and had no expertise in his field.

No...It was the CHANGE!

Funny how Sarah Palin was perceived as inexperienced, yet Sen Obama somehow, is not.

Hypocrisy is so unbecoming

Actually people should have to answer a few Civics questions before they can vote.

I was talking to a co-worker just before the election. I asked her to name her 2 US Senators and her Congressman. She knew none of them. But when I asked her the name of Paris Hilton's dog, she knew it instantly!

Unfortunately being a uninformed and apathetic does not disqualify you from voting....Hence Prez-elect Obama

Do you mean that in this country of around 300 million people, there are only a very few (the retreads from a bygone era), that are qualified to fill those positions? Is that the kind of change he was talking about?

You beat me to it. They don't want inexperienced newbies in sub-leadership poistions but are totally okay with an inexperienced newbie in the Oval Office.

The mind boggles...

In a way you are right - unlike a more experienced politician, Obama didn't come with a group of thinkers and policy makers the way previous Presidents have (not counting of course Ayers, Rezko, et. al.) so he is forced to rely on the old Clinton stand-bys, including Hillary herself. It is becoming rapidly evident there will be little change to the current adminstration, and if the past history of these people is any indication, much corruption will insue - of course, they won't be vetted by a Democratic congress which will initially rubber stamp every nominee, so there will be no protections gainst their excesses for at least two years.

At least it will be some cold comfort to conservatives to realize we aren't facing a new super-leftist administration, but an old, Clintonesque one.

Everything old is new again...

Those comments are just silly. Just because people oppose his selections, doesn't mean that they prefer people with no expertise.

Personally, I think Biden shouldn't have been listed above, because Biden does fill in some of the many gaps Obama has.

Podesta makes sense, because being an insider, qualifies him for his position on the transition team.

Daschle. Rejecting Daschle, isn't choosing no expertise. For the position of Secretary of Health and Human Service, he could have gone outside of politicians and brought in someone that is a true expert in Health and Human Services. Someone with actually experience in the field\industry. Someone with more expertise than Daschle.

Holder. Same thing. There's tens of thousand of lawyers and\or judges, he could have tapped for this position. Once again, people outside of politics. If he only knows politician lawyers, than maybe he could have asked his wife for the name of a non-politician attorney that would make a good AG.

Hilary. Can one really use the term expertise and foreign affairs when talking about Hilary? He could have gone to scholars or business to find people that truly spent the bulk of their time in a (quasi-) diplomat position. Seriously, looking at the function of the position and what he needs out of it, there's thousands of people more qualified than Hilary.

I agree. Voting age needs to be raised and there needs to be a challenging civics test to vote. Otherwise, we end up getting a bunch of nitwits who treat the voting lever like a toilet handle and flushing the US down the toilet.

On the positive side the appointments are generally reflective of a moderate political bent. The hard left is yelping, which is a good sign. Contrary to popular belief, most Presidents evolve into moderates, IMHO.

The negative is so many are retreads. The current President filled his cabinet with retreads and it worked against him. He took six years to finally take the reins. Obama may be doing the same thing. The test will be whether he acts decisively when somebody he appointed isn't getting it done.

I agree the appointments reflect his inexperience. He may feel he needs to make "safe" appointments.
